Introducing the Olight Warrior 3s-AX1 mod
Direct access to continuous and strobe via a cable switch, super bright, and physical dimmer. That’s what I’m looking for in a flashlight for tube light-painting. This one has it all.
After 3 years working with a variation of this one, I finally have a “clean” mod available on the store. That is, a stock Olight Warrior 3s with an aluminum extention tube and a set of physical dimmers. The idea of having a physical dimmer is simply about being able to control the brightness of the flashlight no matter if you use strobe or continous mode.
Pressure switch is included! Use the small button (continuous) and the large (strobe) to paint with light during the exposure:
Instructions:
Use the included punched plugs to dim the light. For camera settings in relation to the brightness of the flashlight, refer to the table here: https://lightpainting.art/news/camera-settings-for-tube-light-painting-tutorial (start the night with no plugs, and end it with a single small hole)
Always unscrew the tail cap when not in use. This flashlight gets extremely hot during operation: accidental activation in a pocket or bag can be dangerous
If the proximity sensor dims the beam inside a tube, you may disable it by covering the sensor with a black Sharpie (not recommended by the manufacturer - proceed at your own risk)
Never submerge the flashlight in salt water. This will damage the magnetic tail cap
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Remove battery if storing longer than three months.
Child Safety: Keep out of reach of children. High output can cause injury if misused.
Warranty & Support: Refer to Olight’s official manual for full warranty details and service contacts.

Olight Warrior 3s-AX1 Highlights:
Fits inside a tube
Super bright (above 2000 lumens)
Constant strobe
Momentary access to continuous and strobe
Bonus: magnetic switch
AX1 addon (when purchased separately)
if you purchase the AX1 addon seperately, here are the instructions to mount it to your flashlight (compatible with the Klarus XT2CR and Olight Warrior 3s)
unscrew the bezel from the flashlight
screw the AX1 tube to the flashlight
add a piece of electric tape on the outside of the flashlight to secure the AX1 tube to the flashlight
to make it more solid, you can either use Red locktight (this is what we use!). Crazy glue would probably work too (never tested)
